My name is Maria Le Thi Ro Sa, currently serving in Cambodia. I would like to share information about the current lives of the Vietnamse stateless people in Cambodia, in particular at Kompong Chnang and Kompong Luong. This season has been dévastating for these people living on the river.  There are too many water-orchids plants making it virtually impossible to fish. Even moving on the river is a challenge for them.

In addition, due to the Pandemic of the Corona virus, they have to be locked down at home. Their lives are at a halt.  It’s particuarly hard for the old, the poor and sick. Sometimes they don’t even have a grain of rice to cook, they have to ask their neighbors to let them borrow some to survive.

I’ve recently visited my compatriots at Kompong Luong, who are also struggling to survive.  The water level is so low that it’s extremely difficult to move on the river and nearly impossible to fish.

I understand it’s very difficult for everyone during this pandemic. However, “A good leaf should cover torn leaves” so if possible, I ask for all of your support to the people here, perhaps a few kilos of rice and noodles to help them get through this difficult time.

On behalf of the people in Bien Ho Kompong Chnang, Kompong Luong. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Dr. Mai Khanh and all of you. We wish you health, peace and luck.

Kompong Chnang, May 27th, 2020

  1. Kompong chnang 400 phần quà
  2. Kompong Luông 300 phần quà

Mỗi phần quà 13$. Gồm 20kg gạo = 10$

và 1 thùng gói mì = 3$

Vậy tổng dự trù là : 700p x 13$ = 9.100$

Thay mặt người dân ở Biển Hồ Kompong Chnang, Kompong Luông. Tôi xin chân thành ghi ơn Bác Sỹ Mai Khanh và tất cả quý Bác Sỹ. Xin kính chúc quý vị luôn dồi dào sức khỏe, bình an và gặp nhiều may mắn trong cuộc sống hằng ngày.

Kompong Chnang, ngày 27 tháng 05 năm 2020

Nữ tu : Maria Lê Thị Rosa
